Between Wednesday, September 16th and Saturday, September 19th, more than 140 volunteers carried out the 2015 Paint the Town event at ten homes in the Woodmere Park neighborhood. Paint the Town is an initiative, led by Community Housing Solutions, which assisted a veteran, an elderly widow, a disabled man, and a retired Cone Mills employee this year, amongst other recipients. Each house sponsor provided funding and volunteers to complete these projects for homeowners that may have been physically or financially unable to provide the repairs themselves. All paint and necessary supplies were donated for this year’s event by Sherwin-Williams Paint.
Sponsoring organization for this year’s Paint the Town event were: Bank of America, United Guaranty, Lincoln Financial Group, First Baptist Church, United Healthcare, St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Wells Fargo, ITG Brands, and Carolina Bank.
